About bed bugs
Bed bugs are small, flat, reddish-brown insects that feed on human blood at night. They hide in mattress seams, bed frames, sofa joints, curtain hems and wall cracks, and they spread quickly between rooms and apartments through luggage, furniture and clothing.
Signs to look for
- Itchy bite marks in lines or clusters, often on arms, neck and legs
- Rust-coloured blood spots on sheets and pillowcases
- Dark faecal dots along mattress seams and bed joints
- A sweet, musty odour in heavily infested rooms
- Live bugs or pale shed skins in furniture crevices
Our treatment approach
GradePestControl uses a two-visit residual treatment programme: a deep inspection of all sleeping and seating areas, targeted application of approved insecticides to every harbourage, steam/heat treatment of mattresses and upholstery where appropriate, and a follow-up visit after 10–14 days to break the egg cycle. We treat adjoining rooms to stop re-infestation.
How to prepare for treatment
- Wash and hot-dry all bedding and curtains before our visit
- Clear items from under beds and away from walls
- Keep treated rooms closed for 2–4 hours after spraying
- Do not replace mattresses before treatment — bugs remain in the frame
Safety & environment
We use WHO-approved, low-odour products applied by trained technicians. Rooms are safe to re-enter once dry. Pregnant women, infants and pets should stay out during treatment and for the ventilation period we advise on site.
Pricing: most residential bed bug control jobs range from KSh 3,500 depending on property size and infestation level. Request a free quote.
